2019 Classroom Maker Summit: Connecting Community

Fueled by the tremendous success of last year’s inaugural Classroom Maker Summit, the REMC Association of Michigan has planned a spectacular summer day of hands-on learning and thought exchange.

This year’s Classroom Maker Summit follows the theme of building a Maker Network by providing common ground for educators looking to share strategies, ideas, and tools related to the Maker movement. The second annual Classroom Maker Summit is Thursday, June 20 at Central Park Elementary School, 1400 Rodd Street, Midland.

“At this year’s Classroom Maker Summit, we’re supporting classroom teachers who are integrating the Maker movement into their classroom instruction,” says Tina Tribu, Instructional Technology/Data Specialist at Kalamazoo RESA, and director at REMC 12W. “Our Classroom Maker Summit is unique because we don’t just talk about Maker tools and trends, we offer hands-on opportunities to explore them. Teachers who attended last year’s Classroom Maker Summit told us the collaborative environment make the event meaningful.”

The Classroom Maker Summit runs from 8:30 am - 3:30 pm and features free registration accompanied by five free SCECHs. For attendees needing overnight accommodations, a block of rooms is reserved at the Holiday Inn Midland at $130 per night. To secure a reservation, call the hotel at 989-794-8500 and mention  “Classroom Maker Summit” to receive the special room rate.  You may also make a reservation using this link.
